Rupes Polishers

Rupes has been manufacturing polishing machines in Vermezzo, near Milan, since 1947, and their Bigfoot series is now the de facto standard among professional detailers across Europe. We carry their entire active range — the LHR21 Mark V for large surfaces, the LHR15 Mark V for detail work and finishing, the iBrid Mini (HLR75) for hard-to-reach areas, and the Duetto LHR12E if you want both motion patterns in one machine. For paint preparation, we also offer the Skorpio III. Each Rupes machine is hand-assembled in Italy — and you can feel it in the vibration, balance, and longevity. We still have customers polishing with LHR15ES and LHR21ES machines purchased 8-10 years ago.

    Which Rupes polisher should you choose?

    It depends on two things: how large a surface you're working on, and how much control you want over the heat in the paint.

    LHR21 Mark V — workhorse for large surfaces

    21 mm orbit makes it fast on panels. It weighs more than the LHR15, but delivers the most defect removal per minute. Our first choice for entire cars.

    LHR15 Mark V — control and finish

    15 mm orbit. Less aggressive, more control around edges, finish polishing, and paints where you don't want to risk burning through. Many detailers own both an LHR21 and an LHR15 — they complement each other.

    iBrid Mini HLR75 — where the 15 doesn't reach

    Between mirrors, around badges, A-pillars, edges. Compact and battery-powered. Not a primary machine — a supplementary one.

    Duetto LHR12E

    12 mm orbit. A good compromise if you only want one machine. Less aggressive than LHR21, more than LHR15.

    Skorpio III

    Strictly speaking, this falls under sanding, not polishing. Pneumatic sander for paint preparation — buy it if you level paint before polishing.

    STD, BAS or LUX kit?

    We typically recommend the BAS kit for first-time buyers — you get the machine, pads, and polishes selected by Rupes themselves. STD is just the machine, sensible if you already have pads and polish. LUX is the full package for those who want everything at once.

    Service and spare parts

    Rupes still supplies spare parts for machines over 10 years old. We stock them as needed - contact us if you have an older LHR15ES or LHR21ES that needs servicing.
