The K&N 57-1001 FIPK air intake system replaces the factory air filter and air filter housing in some BMW 330 models.
K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they straighten and smooth airflow. This allows your BMW engine to inhale a greater amount of air than with the factory air filter. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine.
The 57-1001 air intake comes with a chrome-topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs in the location of the original air filter housing.
Air is directed past the mass air meter and through an aerodynamically designed intake tube into the engine's throttle body, guaranteeing a power gain. The tube can accommodate the factory crankcase vent hose.
The oversized conical air filter can be used for up to 160,000 km before servicing is required, depending on driving conditions.
The air intake is relatively easy to install, usually under 90 minutes, using the existing mounting points. The necessary tools are a screwdriver, a socket set, and a couple of wrenches.
