The K&N 57-1533 FIPK air intake system replaces the factory air filter and air filter housing in some Dodge Ram models.
K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restrictions as they level and smooth out airflow. This allows your Dodge Ram engine to inhale a larger volume of air than with the factory air filter. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine.
The 57-1533 air intake comes with a chrome-topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs where the original air filter box was mounted.
Air is directed past the mass air flow sensor and through an aerodynamically designed intake tube into the engine's throttle body, guaranteeing a power gain. The tube can accommodate the factory crankcase ventilation hose.
The oversized conical air filter can be used for up to 160,000 km before service is needed, depending on conditions.
The air intake is relatively easy to install, usually in under 90 minutes if you use the existing mounting points. The necessary tools are a screwdriver, a socket set, and a pair of wrenches.
